Earn more with a reduced time service fee

Earn 80% with 1-2 cars or 85% with 3+ cars on your time rates.

How it works

• Customers need to be able to book your car
  • Eligible cars listed during the Promotion Period will initially qualify for 80% service fee on time rates
  • On a monthly basis, eligible cars may qualify for 85% service fee on time rates. To qualify for the 85% service fee on time rates, at least 3 vehicles must have been available to book for more than 10% of hours on the weekend or 10% of hours during the weekday over the last calendar month. Users can see their availability for the current or prior month in their Stats page.
• Promotional rates apply only to future bookings – promotional rates will be applied based on the time when a booking is created, regardless of the booking start time. This means that trips that were booked prior to the promotional rate being applied will not have the promotional rate applied.
• Changes to rates are made monthly – changes to a vehicle’s time rate service fee rate will be applied at the beginning of each calendar month based on the number of active vehicles at the end of each month. Promotional rates will be applied for a full calendar month until the next month’s evaluation period.

Qualificiation Criteria

Offer valid from 12am EDT 11 Oct 2023, through 12am EDT 1 May 2024 (the “Promotion Period”).

When the Promotion Period expires, Uber’s standard service fee of 25% (or another amount determined in Uber’s sole discretion) will apply. 

In the event that a vehicle does not meet Carshare’s terms and conditions, it may be delisted in Uber’s discretion.

Uber reserves the right to change, end, or pause this promotion, in whole or in part (including to any individual), if it suspects fraud, abuse, or any violation of the Carshare terms and conditions.

Terms and conditions 

Offer valid from 12am EDT 11 Oct 2023, through 12am EDT 1 May 2024 (the “Promotion Period”). Available in Canada only where Carshare is available (currently only Toronto, ON).

Each eligible vehicle listed during the Promotion Period will initially receive the promotional time rate of 80% on the time rate for 1-2 cars (“1-2 Car Promotional Time Rate”) on bookings completed during the Promotion Period. 

To be initially eligible for the 1-2 Car Promotional Time Rate, vehicles must be: 

(i) registered, roadworthy and well-maintained, and meet Uber Carshare’s vehicle eligibility criteria, and 

(ii) be associated with an active listing that is made available for bookings.  

On a monthly basis (on a day of the week determined by Uber Carshare), all eligible vehicles on the Carshare platform will be reviewed to determine whether they qualify to upgrade to the fleet promotional rate of 85% service fee on time rates (“Fleet Promotional Time Rate”).  

To qualify for the Fleet Promotional Time Rate, the user, at the time of the monthly review, must have 

(a) 3 or more vehicles that meet the eligibility criteria noted in (i) and (ii) above; and   

(b) each of the 3 vehicles must have been available to borrowers at least 10% of all weekend hours in the previous month, or have been available to borrowers at least 10% of all weekday (or midweek) hours in the previous month (i.e. available to borrowers at least 10% of total hours in the calendar month). 

If upgraded and once the upgrade by Uber Carshare has gone into effect, the Fleet Promotional Time Rate will apply to completed bookings for each eligible vehicle for the remainder of the calendar month. 

User accounts on the Fleet Promotional Time Rate will be evaluated at the beginning of each calendar month during the Promotion Period (exact dates to be determined by Uber Carshare). If a user account does not meet eligibility criteria noted in (a) and (b), then they will be downgraded to the 1-2 Car Promotional Time Rate. 

Users can see how their availability and eligibility is trending by going to the Stats page. They can look at the current month in real-time when 'This month' is selected and see the previous month's availability by selecting 'Last month'.

Any vehicle that does not meet the Carshare terms and conditions may be delisted in Uber’s discretion. Uber reserves the right to change, end, or pause this promotion, in whole or in part (including to any individual), if it suspects fraud, abuse, or any violation of the Carshare terms and conditions.
