Credit checks for account activation

Short answer:

To be eligible for membership, you'll need to have a satisfactory credit history. We run a credit check (with the applicant's consent) as part of the application process.

When you sign up and verify your ID, there's a checkbox at the end to agree to a credit check. If you don't agree, then we won't be able to consider your application for membership.

We comply with consumer credit reporting laws when exchanging credit information with credit reporting bodies.

You can find more detail in our privacy and credit reporting policy.

We assess each application for membership individually, and your credit record is just one factor that we look at.

  • It's absurd to require a full credit check comparable to taking out a loan or credit card when even car lenders can check a snapshot for pricing eligibilty without leaving a footprint on your credit file. My credit score is now LOWER from having enquired here.

  • Hi Roger, we've recently become aware of an issue where our credit checks were showing up as 'personal loan'. Our credit check provider will be fixing this issue and the note on your file will be changed to say 'Lease: equipment hire or rental'. We're really sorry for the stress and hassle this has caused and are working to get it resolved ASAP.

  • Hahaha ... I see you have hidden or deleted comments (from 2 or more people) by putting comments in a pending approval state.
Doesn't matter if my comments are hidden. I am still going public and lodging a complaint with ASIC if the negative hit on my credit file is not removed by COB 1/3/21.
Thank you and have a nice day!
