Removing the stickers from your car won't damage the paintwork if you do it carefully, and it's pretty simple to do yourself.

What you'll need

  • Household cleaning spray
  • Scraper with a plastic blade (do not use a metal blade)
  • Soft cloth or rag
  • Thermos of hot water (optional)

Removing stickers from your car

Follow these instructions carefully to avoid damaging your car's paintwork.

  1. Apply cleaning spray and wait 2 minutes
This helps soften the adhesive. If you don't have cleaning spray, you can use household detergent and a bucket of water.
  2. Check if the sticker is ready
Use the scraper to lift the edge of the sticker. If that doesn't work, try pouring hot water from a thermos and wait another 2 minutes.
  3. Carefully peel the sticker off
Once the corner is coming off, pull the sticker sideways and parallel to the car's surface. Do not pull the sticker directly away from the car as it places more stress on the paint surface.
  4. Clean off any sticker residue
Using your soft cloth and cleaning spray, clean the area thoroughly.
