Different cars have fuel caps that need to be opened in slightly different ways. Here are some common ways:

  • A lever inside the car, usually at the floor near the driver's seat - look for a symbol of a bowser
  • A push button catch on the fuel cap itself - when the car is unlocked, try pushing the fuel cap on the side closest to the back of the car
  • The fuel caps on some older cars are unlocked using the car key - check if the fuel cap as a keyhole on it

Still stuck?

  • Check the owner's instructions - in the app tap Get help > Trip instructions
  • Try calling the owner for advice
  • Search Google for the problem (e.g. 'how to open fuel door on 2015 Honda Jazz')
  • Check the glovebox to see if the car's manual is there and look for how to open the fuel cap
