App Unlock and keys
- Do not keep any original car keys in the car.
- If your car has a special key - only keep the special key in the car for borrowers to use.
The car won't lock or unlock using the app
What to check:
- The app has an internet connection
- You're standing next to the driver's door
If you've already done that, the App Unlock device might have been unplugged from the OBD port.
Reconnect the App Unlock device to the OBD port.
The car won't start with the special key
There are a couple of things you can try:

Check the ignition and OBD port
Make sure that everything is intact from the outside and there aren't any signs of damage.
If there is damage, contact us to arrange repairs.

Check your car's GPS location in the app
If the location is wrong, there's a chance the App Unlock device has been unplugged from the OBD port.
Reconnect the App Unlock device to the OBD port.
The car won't start with a regular car key
- Lock the car through the Uber Carshare app.
- You'll then be able to start using the car using the regular key.
The car's location is incorrect in the app
When the car is parked in an underground or high-rise car park, the GPS data can be delayed until the car is back on the road.
If your car isn't parked in a covered area, there's a chance the App Unlock device has been unplugged from the OBD port.
Reconnect the App Unlock device to the OBD port.
